The children often engage in their local community through excursions to the library, play centre, parks, aquatic centre and play dates with other Enhance Family Day Care Educators. They absolutely love their outings and regularly talk about them with me and their families, which is lovely feedback.

Day in the life of Tegan
My day starts at 7.45am and by 8.30am the children have all been dropped off. My group is small with four children attending every day. I always greet the children and families and watch as the children help unpack their belongings for their day at Stepping Stones Early Learning.
We often start our days outside, engaging in planned activities around the children’s interests and ideas. I constantly make use of spontaneous ‘teachable moments’, particularly when the rubbish truck comes for collection. We use this opportunity for open ended questions and discussion between me and the children.
We enjoy morning tea outside either at the table or on our picnic mat. The children really like saving their banana peels and feeding them to our worms after we have finished eating. Before transitioning inside, we read a book as a group and sing our good morning song.

My home is the children’s home. Their families are part of a whole network to help me provide the best possible learning experience and care for their child. By having open communication with myself and families, we can achieve this outcome for the children.
